Dr. Nicole Arlette Hirsch

Research Consultant & DEI Consultant

Nicole is a Harvard-trained sociologist who brings expertise in organizations, social change, anti-racism & research methodology to her work as a Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging consultant and researcher. She has worked with government agencies, youth-serving nonprofits, Fortune 500 companies, startups, and foundations in the U.S. and France. Her work has included culture assessments and gap analyses, policy and program review, holistic DEIB planning, implementation support, as well as workshops, trainings, and group facilitation.

Nicole’s research focuses on culture, social change and social movements, and anti-racist praxis. Her content expertise includes policing and criminal justice, social determinants of health and antiracism in healthcare institutions, supplier diversity efforts, and racial equity in higher education. Her academic work has been published in the DuBois Review, Critical Commentary, and in the edited volume Affirmative Action and Racial Equity. She appeared as an expert in the documentary film Identity Check, a film about racial profiling in France, and has published articles on Medium and the blog of the Equity Research Institute at USC.

Nicole has taught sociology and African American Studies courses at Harvard, USF, and USC.
