Leo Goldberg

Leo Goldberg is a policy researcher and advocate focused on community development, anti-displacement strategies, and community ownership. Most recently, he led advocacy and coalition building work at the California Community Land Trust Network where he had the chance to provide support to dozens of grassroots nonprofits and secure legislative victories at the state and local levels. Prior to returning to California, Leo was Policy and Research Manager at the Center for NYC Neighborhoods where he led research and program design efforts focused on speculative real estate practices and addressing racial wealth gap. His research subjects have ranged from informal settlement upgrading policies to community land trust feasibility to documenting the impact of home flipping and all-cash buyers.

Leo lives in Oakland and holds a B.A. in History and Urban Studies from Columbia University and a M.A. in City Planning from MIT.
